Landmark Acquires Franchise.com for Undisclosed Sum

NORFOLK, VA -- Landmark Communications announced that it completed the purchase of Franchise.com, an online franchise recruitment information resource for would-be franchises.

Franchise.com was founded in 1995 by Nancy Ghanem and the principal activity is advertising franchise opportunities through its web site.

The acquisition is an addition to the other online properties that Landmark owns, such as Weather.com, BusinessBroker.net and TotalVid.  Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
